Secrets of Ayanad Spotlight: Level 55

A Long Road Ahead

“The path to level 55 is long, winding, and filled with a variety of adventures: You can battle creatures in Sungold Fields, Exeloch, and Diamond Shores that have evolved to meet your growing power, and delve into the Library itself to test your mettle against arcane foes. You can complete highly-rewarding tasks from Ayanad Disciples as well as quests unique to specific days of the week. You can even level while taking a reprieve from hostilities, growing unique plants and animals that reward experience when they mature.
To speed your journey, we have eased the amount of experience required to gain levels after 50 in the North American/European version of the game – but don’t worry! With scaling XP requirements from 3 million (for level 51) to 38 million (for level 55), this is not an adventure that can be finished overnight.”

New Levels

“Each level after 50 awards an additional skill point (increasing your overall cap from 23 to 28 at level 55). This allows for new combinations and greater flexibility in your available specs and – along with Obsidian Weapons – makes hybrid characters more relevant in all aspects of the game.
The result is a huge viability boost for specs like Paladin, Skullknight, Trickster, Eidolon, Archon, Druid, Hierophant, Argent, Crusader, and Spellsinger, and a serious challenge to current top-tier specs like Primeval, Darkrunner, Blighter, Daggerspell, and Templar.”

New Powers

The launch of Secrets of Ayanad grants access to highly-desired level 55 abilities that further diversify your options when building your class. Here’s a first look at all of the new level 55 skills and their potential applications!
Battlerage: Behind Enemy Lines
This targeted, mid-range area-of-effect ability launches you into the fray while ensnaring and damaging unsuspecting foes. Due to its quickness, Behind Enemy Lines can function like Teleport in combination with Charge, Overwhelm, or Shadow Step to immediately close distance on your opponent. Common uses include: initiation, disengagement, and riding on a cool hammer.
Defense: Fortress
This battle-shaping control ability flings your enemies back while drawing your allies closer (regardless of existing status effects). Allies who are pulled to the caster also receive a short-duration damage reduction bonus. Common uses include: stopping tunnel vision, self-peeling, and interrupting combos.
Occultism: Death’s Vengeance
This (delightfully) macabre buff unleashes devastating magic-based damage against all foes within 15 meters when you die. Death’s Vengeance has a cast time to apply and then lies dormant until triggered by your death or dispelled by an enemy player. Common uses include: revenge, yolo engages, fun.
Sorcery: God’s Whip
This ability lashes all foes within a targeted 6-meter radius with a blast of withering energy. God’s Whip can be used in rapid succession up to 5 times without incurring a cooldown, and all opponents who are hit by the ability are affected by Electric Shock. Common uses include: street sweeping, multi-opponent PvP, and inducing immediate panic in plate wearers.
Songcraft: [Perform] Grief’s Cadence
This beguiling ballad reduces the duration of negative status effects on your allies while increasing the duration of negative status effects on a charmed enemy. Common uses include: mitigating stunlocks, satisfying obsessive-performance-twisting disorder, and sounding nice.
Witchcraft: Fiend’s Knell
This infernal ability summons a Weeping Dead ally to attack nearby aggressive targets. Your new pet (who operates in addition to your regular combat pet) has a mind of its own and will relentlessly attack enemies for the duration of the spell. Common uses include: increasing damage output and having a short-term fiendship.
Auramancy: Mirror Warp
This 5-second buff adds a toolbar option to immediately strafe-teleport left or right. (Your new teleportation skills remain until you teleport or the buff elapses.) Common uses include: dodging impending doom, gaining a positional advantage, and disorienting melee opponents.
Archery: Snipe
This extremely powerful, long-ranged shot pierces through opponents while dealing heavy damage to everything in its path. Simply pivot mid-cast to change the direction of its attack. Common uses include: group PvP, naval combat, and forcing enemies to dodge something other than missile rain.
Shadowplay: Throw Dagger
Target this short-ranged, area-of-effect ability at a single opponent and watch as the pain spreads to nearby foes! All enemies hit by the dagger’s effect sustain physical damage along with decreased movement, attack speed, and casting speed (while you gain 2 stacks of Bloodthirst per victim). Common uses include: mitigating burst damage, quickly stacking Bloodthirst for a Shadowsmite setup, and making enemies cry.
Vitalism: Whirlwind’s Blessing
This targeted spell empowers the attack and movement speed of allies while debuffing opponents in a 30-meter area. Whirlwind’s Blessing is a powerful tool that can increase your group’s damage in PvE encounters and turn the tide of PvP engagements. Common uses include: battlefield control, coordinated burst damage, and summoning eye-candy magic effects.
The release of Secrets of Ayanad and level 55 are right around the corner, adventurers! Prepare to bring new tactics to the battlefield and your enemies to their knees with these powerful new abilities as you battle for the Secrets of Ayanad!
