A new limited time event comes to ArcheAge! For the next two weeks, you will be able to craft a host of powerful scrolls during the Power Unbound event.

Event Duration: Monday, July 27 to Monday, August 10

During the event, a new crafting station will be available on Mirage Isle. Bring 10x Paper and 2x Blue Salt Hammer to craft an Unidentified Grimoire – crafting it does not require any labor! Unseal the Unidentified Grimoire to see which of the 9 possible Grimoires you’ve created. These tradable scrolls are consumed upon use, and their effects can be stacked with other buffs.

Here is the full list of Grimoires and the hour-long buffs they provide.

• Experience Grimoire – Increases XP gain by +20%.
• Ward Grimoire – Decrease received damage by 5%.
• Promise Grimoire – Increases all stats by +70.
• Healing Grimoire – Restores 30% of Max Health (120sec cooldown).
• Haste Grimoire – Increases Move Speed +10%.
• Greedy Grimoire – Increases loot drop rate +10%.
• Zeal Grimoire – Increases skill damage and received healing by +4%.
• Frenzy Grimoire – Decreases combat skill cooldown by 10%.
• Meditation Grimoire – Restores 18% of Max Mana every 2.5sec for 10sec. Moving or taking action ends the mana restoration (120sec cooldown).

Double Experience Weekend July 24-27 and Aranzeb Compensation

Greetings Adventurers!

This weekend, many of you on Aranzeb were affected by significant server downtime, leaving you unable to play the game and enjoy the Double Experience weekend event. While we here at Trion and the team at XLGAMES worked diligently on both Saturday and Sunday to rectify this issue and get your server back online, we know that you guys didn’t get the chance to really enjoy the weekend as much as you wanted to due to multiple 10 hour+ periods of downtime.

In order to compensate you for this weekend’s events, we will be running the Bounty of Knowledge weekend event again for all servers between between July 24 and July 27. Additionally, Aranzeb players will receive the following compensation for their downtime:

• For all players with Patron Status on Aranzeb at the time of the outage (July 17 – July 19), your status will be extended by 2 days.
• Two bound, no cooldown 1000 labor potions and 5 reward coins delivered to all Aranzeb players active within the last 30 days, regardless of patron status, through the in-game mail system to your highest level character on Aranzeb. Please note that you will only receive 1 of these deliveries per account, and they will be waiting for you on your highest level character.

These compensation items will be delivered as denoted starting on Wednesday, July 22nd. Please allow 48 hours for the items to be delivered. If the items are not delivered to your account after 48 hours, please contact our customer service team at http://support.trionworlds.com for assistance.

Scapes has headed off to work on a new project and Celestrata has taken his position as the ArcheAge community relations manager. His official good-bye as well as Celestrata's official introduction posts are below.



Adventurers,

A little over a year ago, I joined Trion Worlds to take point on building the online community for their newest game, ArcheAge. I had heard of the title years before, back when it was only a project name uttered in hushed whispers at my erstwhile studio while publishing a competing product. It was very poetic and a privilege to later shape the player experience on a game that thrills me with the richness of its features and openness of its gameplay.

Reviewing my notes from those early days, the second page of the first journal includes a one-liner I wrote down while FireCait and I designed the GDC 2014 press demo. It reads "the game players and developers create together". ArcheAge has evolved considerably since our service first opened its virtual doors to players worldwide during Alpha. My writings are filled with community achievements, chronicling game changes that were communicated and enacted based on the critical yet constructive insights from ArcheAge's passionate players. Early examples such as changing the trade pack loot division during Beta, increasing archeum availability days before launch, and adjusting the offline labor regeneration rate a few months ago come to mind. It was your feedback as ArcheAge's community that made these changes reality.

I fervently anticipate the changes still to come with the many-featured ArcheAge 2.0 game update on the near horizon but I will enjoy learning, testing, and playing this new content alongside you all as a member of this community. It is with bittersweet excitement that I announce I am joining FireCait on a new, as-of-yet-unannounced project. You may have seen our teaser for it last week: devilinsideyou.com. Taking up the mantle as your Senior Community Relations Manager is the utterly excellent Seraphina "Celestrata" Brennan, my friend for many years and now colleague as of this day. Her experience engaging fiercely zealous fanbases and championing proactive communications pairs her to the ArcheAge community perfectly.

ArcheAge has been a milestone title in my career and I will absolutely continue growing the empire of [NAME REDACTED], my character on Ollo. I may also continue hosting the weekly ArcheAge livestream alongside Khrolan and Amary from San Francisco until we finish construction of a second broadcasting studio in the Austin office. I eagerly look forward to meeting with you all at Gamescom and PAX Prime later this year to trade war stories and salty tales together over a mug of ale.

Greetings Adventurers!

Let me start off by saying how excited I am to be posting here today! My name is Seraphina Brennan, but some of you may know me better as Celestrata. While I hail from the great Northeast of the United States, I've moved to Austin, TX to join the Trion Worlds team as your new Community Manager for ArcheAge!

Now while I'm relatively new to the continents of ArcheAge (currently grinding up my characters on a few servers so I can immerse myself in what's going on), I am anything but new to massively multiplayer gaming. Some of you may recognize my name from my days as a Senior Editor and Community Manager on Massively.com (now Massively Overpowered, of course), while others may recognize me from my days traveling Middle-earth in The Lord of the Rings Online, and still others may recognize me from the battle-torn Lost Sectors of Infinite Crisis.

But before any of that, I was tearing through MUDs like DragonRealms and Gemstone III, adventuring in EverQuest and Asheron's Call, and capping my character in one of my favorite MMOs of all, Nexus: The Kingdom of the Winds. I have to say, it's pretty surreal to be working on a game made by Jake Song after playing Nexus so long ago.

While I normally play tanks and healers in my games, I've been all over the place in ArcheAge. My favorite class so far is my Hexblade, but I also have a lot of love for my Inquisitor and Shadehunter. I'm still totally in the period of frequent class swapping as I play around to find what really fits my play style for the game I could fall back to my usual ways as a Paladin or end up at Darkrunner, who knows!

Some of you may be wondering where Scapes is heading to. Don't worry, my old friend will be taking on a new role which you'll get to hear about very soon. Exciting times!

With all of that said, I cannot wait to meet you guys! Feel free to post your own introduction, thoughts, and/or questions here in this thread or, join us over on Reddit. I'll be doing an official AMA over there all day.

Introducing Great New Glider Upgrades

Soaring through the skies high above Erenor, you may sometimes wish you could make sharper turns or attain more altitude. We did too. That’s why we’re pleased to announce that top-tier Gliders will be given a new progression path this July!

Most valuable Gliders in ArcheAge fall into the HHMM format (High Top Speed, High Gliding, Moderate Turning, Moderate Initial Speed). The system will allow Gliders to upgrade to HHHH, and, with additional time and effort, to obtain a VH (Very High) rating in one attribute!
Let’s start with a list of eligible Gliders*:

• Corrupt Ally’s Wings
• Crimson Fae Wings
• Ezi’s Glider
• Feathered Dragon Glider
• Feathered Hope
• Gilt Spiral Glider
• Glass Phoenix Glider
• Goblin Glider
• Lapis Fae Wings
• Legendary Dragon Wings
• Loving Ally’s Wings
• Moonshadow Glider
• Pure Ally’s Wings
• Red Dragon Glider
• Skywhisper Glider
• Sloth Glider Companion
• Thunderbolt Glider
• Squirrel Glider Companion

*Note: Some of these Gliders may not yet be available in the NA/EU Regions, and some of the gliders were obtained from limited time promotions.

So how exactly do I awesomize my Glider?
You’ll need one of the Gliders listed above, a Carpentry Workbench and a small level of Machining Proficiency.

Enhanced Glider
First, you’ll need to improve your base Glider to an Enhanced version. To accomplish this, craft Glider Enhancement Tools.
Materials:

• 100 Glowing Prisms
• 200 Gilda Dust
• 2 Thunderstruck Logs
• 1 Sunridge Ingot
• 50 Blue Salt Hammers

Let’s use the basic Red Dragon Glider (HHMM) as an example. When you combine it with Glider Enhancement Tools, it will become an Enhanced Red Dragon Glider (Grand Rarity -HHHH). BOOYAH!

Sealed Glider
For the next upgrade, you’ll be able to convert an Enhanced Glider into Sealed Glider. Combine your Enhanced Glider with a Glider Manacharge Scroll, crafted at a Printing Press.
Materials:

• 20 Glowing Prisms
• 1 Blank Regrade Scroll
• 1 Prismatic Diamond
• 10 Blue Salt Hammers

Once the Sealed Glider is created, it can be unsealed to reveal if the glider was successfully upgraded to a version of the Glider that has unlocked a Very High rating in Top Speed, Gliding, Turning, or Initial Speed. If you unlock Top Speed, for instance, then this final form’s designation will be VHHHH. You can never have more than one attribute at VH.

If your Glider does not come out with the VH stat in the slot you hoped for, you can remove the enhancement with a Glider Wingmaker Scroll (which you can craft in-game or purchase for 500 Credits on the Marketplace). A Glider can be reverted and unsealed as many times as you wish, similar to Weapon/Armor Tempering.

It is important to note that all enhanced Gliders are “Bind on Pickup” after upgrading, so they cannot be traded after that point.

Skywhisper Glider
We’re also bringing you a brand new kind of Glider on July 21st! The Skywhisper Glider will be a rare item obtainable from the Skywhisper Archeum Supply Crate or for 450 Loyalty Tokens. The base stats on this unique Glider are HHHH and it’s upgradeable!

The Skywhisper looks like a biplane and has a canvas covering like the aircraft it’s modeled after. This means they can be completely re-skinned with a Crest Brainstorm/Crest Stamp. To help you start customizing your Skywhisper, we’ve provided the UCC template and some examples below!

One of the most highly anticipated prophecies of Alpha has finally come to pass, and submarines will re-enter the world of ArcheAge with our update on July 21!

How do submarines function?
Submarines are technically not ships; they’re mounts that function similarly to Cyanfin and Fusciafin with one key difference: submarines can equip armor, which makes them customizable.

Hello ArcheAge Players,

I’m Merv Lee Kwai (also known as Khrolan), a Producer on ArcheAge for Trion Worlds. The last time I wrote to you I had just joined the team, and I’m happy to say I’ve been deeply involved with the evolution of ArcheAge during the past 6 months. Since then, we’ve worked closely with XLGAMES to deliver great content updates like Secrets of Ayanad and Dread Prophecies. It’s been exciting and more than a little busy, but I’m happy have the time now to announce upcoming releases, reflect on the current state of the game, and talk about future plans.

Full Steam Ahead
Our foremost goal for this year was delivering quality game updates to help North American and European versions catch up with the pace of the Korean development cycle. I’m proud to say that we’ve closed ground and are on schedule to deliver the highly anticipated 2.0 update by the end of summer 2015. We prioritized easing pain points in the game’s economy by improving drop rates for Archeum, adding alternate item progression paths like Obsidian, easing the difficulty of regrading, and greatly improving our Archeum Supply Crates. We continue to evaluate the economy’s health every day.

Player feedback has been an amazing catalyst for change, and without your passionate involvement we’d most certainly not have come this far. Our Public Test Server has added another layer of review to upcoming content, and I am amazed at what an impact it’s had. Our dedicated community members have shown an impressive amount of effort when tracking down potential issues, and that has allowed us to get them fixed prior to content release. My hat’s off to you!

Behind the scenes, our communication with XLGAMES is at an all-time best. While it might not always look this way from the outside, we remain your strongest advocates for fair and fun gameplay in our region. We believe in healthy debate with our partners, and we’re happy that they do, too. More and more often you’re helping us make great cases for improvements that make your game better.

The Leviathan

• The dreaded Leviathan—once thought to be legend—has finally returned to the Arcadian Sea.
• A massive creature that lurks in the northern ocean, hunting the Leviathan requires both strong communication and a large naval presence.
• Those who manage to defeat the Leviathan will be rewarded with the design for the Enoan Galleon, a new type of multi-level warship.
• Additionally, defeating the Leviathan allows its body to be brought to Diamond Shores as a trophy that provides a powerful buff to nearby players in recognition of this great achievement over the seas.

Event FAQ

Can I save Labor to spend when the event begins?
Yes. The event is tracked by Labor spent from Friday, June 19 at 1:00 PM PDT to Monday, June 22 at 1:00 PM PDT. All Labor consumed during the event period will be tallied at the end and used when calculating rewards.

How does this event affect Patron and Non-Patron accounts?
Patrons and Non-Patrons receive the same rewards for this event. While Patrons gain the benefit of increased Labor generation and a higher Labor cap, non-Patrons will have a chance to stock up on Loyalty Tokens.

How will the amount of Labor I spend be tracked?
Two Loyalty Tokens will be awarded for each increment of 1000 Labor you spend during the event. Partial increments of 1000 will be rounded up. For example, if you spend 15,422 Labor during the event, you will receive 32 Loyalty Tokens.

Will using Labor potions during the event contribute to my total reward?
Yes. Any Labor generation items used during the event will be included in your overall total, including Worker’s Compensation potions, no-cooldown Labor potions, hangover cures, fireworks, sleeping in a bed, and more.

If I spend Labor on NA and EU regions, how will rewards be distributed?
Labor is generated at the account level in separate pools in each region. A player is welcome to spend Labor in both regions during the event and will receive rewards based on the amount of Labor spent per region.

What character will receive the Loyalty Tokens?
The character on your account that spent the most Labor will receive the mail containing token rewards.

How and when will Loyalty Token rewards be distributed?
Loyalty Tokens will be distributed through in-game mail by June 25, 2015. To receive the Loyalty Token reward, open your in-game mail, collect the Loyalty Tokens from the attachment, and right-click to consume them in your inventory.

No. Event times will occur based on PDT, so we’ve listed a conversion below:

PDT: Friday, 6/19/2015 at 1:00 PM until Monday 6/22/2015 at 1:00 PM
GMT: Friday, 19/6/2015 at 8:00 PM until Monday 22/6/2015 at 8:00 PM
BST: Friday, 19/6/2015 at 9:00 PM until Monday 22/6/2015 at 9:00 PM
CEST: Friday, 19/6/2015 at 10:00 PM until Monday 22/6/2015 at 10:00 PM
AEST: Saturday, 20/6/2015 at 6:00 AM until Tuesday 23/6/2015 at 6:00 AM
